BC Workplace Hazards Risk Assessment

Asbestos, lead and silica are three hazardous materials that pose significant health risks to workers if exposure is not controlled. Each has its own dedicated set of regulations designed to mitigate the risks of working around or directly with the agent.

Deemed “designated substances” due to their potential to cause cancer and reproductive harm, a Qualified Person, with knowledge, training and experience with these substances must be involved in their management.
